Welcome to We Are Many Nomos

Hello, I’m Kerry, the organiser of ‘We Are Many NoMos’, the UK’s inaugural conference for nomos (not-mothers) that, in a moment of madness, I decided to create… In my other full-time job I’m a nurse!

With 1 in 5 women in the UK having turned 45 without having children, an estimate that looks to increase to 1 in 4 women for those born in the 1970s, something I’ve often wondered is, ‘Where are they all then?!’ Although I’m not sure where they’re all going to be for the rest of the year, I’m hoping that on the weekend of 29th and 30th October 2016,  a great big bunch of us will be at the UK’s first conference for childless-not-by-choice women in the lovely surroundings of the Arden Hotel, Solihull (Nr. Birmingham, UK)

For one weekend we’re bringing together some of the UK’s most prominent and well-loved thinkers and speakers to spark conversations around the issue of involuntary childlessness, and to create a safe and fun place for us to connect, mingle and inspire each other.

We Are Many Nomos is one weekend where you won’t have to worry about anyone popping out the baby photos, or asking you awkward questions!

Our keynote speaker is the warm and inspiring Jody Day, Founder of Gateway Women, the global friendship and support network for childless women. We’ve got a fabulous and growing line up of other speakers too, including Robin Hadley, Kelly Da Silva and Lesley Pyne. Click here to view more info and check back as more will be added.

We’re also putting together an art exhibition of works by childless women which will on display in the lobby and the main conference hall.  If you’d like your work to be considered for inclusion, click here to email our curator Jo Paul. You don’t need to be a professional artist, nor to have had an exhibition – just that you’ve chosen to express some of your thoughts and feelings about childlessness through a visual medium and would be willing to share that. Go on, be brave… (Please!)

We’ve got a delicious lunch for you both days and tea & coffee available throughout.

Most of all, We Are Many Nomos is a place to meet your Tribe and feel proud again. Being childless in our currently mummy-mad culture can be hard work. This one weekend, experience something difference – a feeling of belonging.

We Are Many Nomos is a not-for-profit event and the ticket price covers the costs of running the event only. Please support your Tribe by purchasing a ticket for yourself or, if you cannot attend, do consider offering one to someone else as a gift.

Thank you sisters and see you in October!
